The 7 Hermetic Principles of Birth
A remembrance of the universal laws that govern creation and the sacred art of Midwifing life.
I was walking through the halls of a Waldorf school on a quiet weekday morning, touring the campus with curiosity and wonder. There’s something different about the Waldorf pedagogy something ancient, tender, and intentional. It’s in the wooden toys, the warm hues on the walls, the reverence for rhythm, beauty and the altered states of conciouesness. And then I saw them—textbooks that weren’t mass-produced or standardized. Each one hand-created by high school students, as part of Rudolf Steiner’s vision for education that integrates art, spirit and intellect.
Waldorf education believes that we are not just here to download information—we are here to remember. To integrate. To create. That each child, like each mother in labor, is unfolding at their own sacred pace. This is quantum education.
Among these treasures, I came across one small book that stopped me in my tracks. Inside were the 7 Hermetic Principles, rendered in radiant colored pencil and sacred geometry. I could feel the vibration of the drawings—they pulsed with wisdom, with beauty, with truth.
And instantly, I was brought back to Birth. In the world of Birth, there are laws greater than any protocol or policy—laws of nature, of spirit and of creation itself.
The 7 Hermetic Principles are a core part of Hermeticism and a set of philosophical and esoteric tenets that describe the universal laws which govern our reality. They are Ancient truths that guide the unfolding of life.
When I look at Birth through this lens, everything softens and makes sense.
Let’s explore what it means to Midwife life in harmony with these sacred truths:
1. The Principle of Mentalism — All is Mind. The Universe is Mental.
Birth begins long before the first contraction. It begins in consciousness. In the dreaming, the imagining, the intentional shaping of our inner landscape. Before the waters open, before the cervix ripens, there is a thought. A vision. A frequency. The Quantum womb is seeded by this vision. And the way we think and live creates the way we give birth.
2. The Principle of Correspondence — As above, so below. As within, so without.
Birth mirrors our inner world. The emotions we carry, the beliefs we hold, the energies we embody—they ripple into our physiology. When our inner field is aligned, birth flows. It’s not just the mother birthing the baby, it’s the baby being birthed with her, in complete energetic attunement. Our inner coherence becomes the blueprint of birth.
3. The Principle of Vibration — Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.
Labor is not linear. It is not a series of clinical stages. It is vibrational. Hormones, sound, movement, energy—all dancing together in a sacred wave. Birth is a frequency. When we stop managing it and start witnessing it, we allow the sacred pulse of life to express itself fully. Let the wave move through you, not against you.
4. The Principle of Polarity — Everything is dual; everything has poles.
In Birth, we meet the full spectrum of sensation: pleasure and pain, expansion and intensity, joy and surrender. These are not opposites—they are complements. Each one helps us open. Each one teaches us about our own power. We were never meant to avoid it all—we were meant to feel it all. This is the alchemy of feminine embodiment.
5. The Principle of Rhythm — Everything flows, out and in.
Birth moves in waves and spirals, not straight lines. It reflects the rhythm of tides, of moon cycles, of breath. It cannot be forced, scheduled or controlled. It has its own sacred tempo. When we honor that rhythm, we return to the timing of nature—and of soul. In Birth, there is wisdom in the waiting.
6. The Principle of Cause and Effect — Every cause has its effect.
Everything we do in the Birth field matters. Every word, every intervention, every presence—it all ripples. Birth is sensitive to energy. Midwifery is not passive, it is intentional. Your presence is a cause. Let your effect be one of Love, reverence and integrity. What we imprint in Birth is carried through our lineage.
7. The Principle of Gender — Gender is in everything; it manifests as the masculine and feminine.
Birth is the dance of divine polarities. There is the masculine: holding, protecting, containing. And there is the feminine: flowing, expanding, opening. Both are needed. When we honor both energies in the Birth space, we create safety. And in that safety, Birth becomes more than just the passage of a baby—it becomes the sacred union of cosmic forces, rebirthing the World.
May we remember that Birth is a spiritual science, a ceremony of the soul and a sacred initiation.
In this way, we are returning to the knowing that Birth is not something to be managed, but a force to be reverently witnessed. Birth a cosmic unfolding where life remembers how to begin again through us.
What is Quantum Midwifery?
Quantum Midwifery is A New Language for a New Birth Paradigm
Quantum Midwifery is not a brand. It’s not a trend. It’s a remembrance. A response to the truth that the world we’re Birthing into — and the Births we’re witnessing — are no longer linear.
We are living in a New Paradigm and Birth is leading the way.
This is my first blog post — a love letter, a declaration and a devotion.
A devotion to Birth.
To the mysteries of Life.
To the mothers, babies and Midwives who have held this thread long before I ever picked it up.
I write this with deep humility and fierce love for the path I’ve walked — and the one I almost left.
There was a moment, not long ago, when I thought I would never Midwife Birth again. I was ready to burn my license. Not because I had lost my love for Birth — but because I couldn’t find a way forward that felt true, sovereign and in integrity.
And then I met Whapio. A wise woman, a teacher and a mirror. A woman who reminded me that Midwifery is not a profession — it’s a vibration.
This post is dedicated to her — and to every Midwife who has stood at the threshold, unsure of how to continue, and found their way back through remembering.
Thank you to Whapio - The Matrona.
In reclaiming birth as sacred, I’ve also reclaimed the scientific technology of the body and its original energetic blueprint.
Surprisingly, it has been the study of quantum physics that has brought me into deeper alignment with the mystical intelligence of Birth, Life, Death and the Body than any clinical schooling I’ve received in the past decade.
The quantum model doesn’t reduce life — it expands it. It honors the unseen, the nonlinear, the entangled. It speaks the same language as Birth…
Quantum Midwifery speaks to what cannot be captured in charts, protocols or clinical timelines. It speaks to the way time bends in labor. The way intuition guides decisions before data. The way babies communicate in energy before form.
In Quantum Midwifery, we honor:
• Mother/Baby as a unified field
• The Birth space as an energetic container
• Labor as a nonlinear wave of frequency and sensation
• Birth as ceremony, co-creation and soul agreement
We speak in vibration, not just vitals.
We track consciousness, not just centimeters.
We trust that what is unseen is just as real — if not more — than what is measurable.
This isn’t a rejection of skills or knowledge. It’s an EXPANSION.
Quantum Midwifery integrates physiology, trauma awareness and clinical tools — with the remembrance of ancient knowing, altered states and soul-led care.
We are no longer in the paradigm of waiting to be told what’s safe, what’s allowed or what’s right.
This work is for those reclaiming Birth as sovereign, spiritual and sacred. For those attuning to the frequencies of transformation.
Why the Word Quantum?
I use the word quantum not just because birth is nonlinear — but because birth is both particle and wave.
Just like quantum physics teaches:
• We are both form and frequency.
• Matter and mystery.
• Structure and surrender.
In labor, we shift between dimensions. The body contracts and the Spirit expands.
We ride waves of sensation, then we become the wave.
Birth is not a moment. It’s a field.
A collapse of timelines. A creation of new realities.
Birth is Quantum.
Quantum Midwifery is my remembering.
A calling back home into coherence with life. It’s how I found my way home to birth — and to myself.
This is more than a philosophy. It’s the language of the new paradigm and a prayer for those who are ready to Midwife a different way forward.
To my beloved elder Whapio — thank you for seeing me. For reminding me that my knowing is not something I earned, but something I’ve always carried.
To the Midwives who came before me, who whispered through the veil when I forgot — this is for you.
And to those who are just now awakening to the call:
• You are not too late.
• You have not missed it.
• You are the Midwife you’ve been waiting for.
This is the beginning.
Thank you for walking beside me.
Quantum Birth: Becoming the Wave
It all begins with an idea.
I was standing in my kitchen one afternoon, and suddenly, I was somewhere else entirely.
It started with a question I’ve been carrying for years:
Where are we going?
As a culture, as a species, as a field of consciousness?
And then, another question rose up like a whisper from the quantum field, one that our fearless leader Whapio has tasked us with investigating for ourselves…
How does a particle become a wave?
I’ve studied the mystical. I’ve studied the clinical. But it was the science of quantum physics that brought me back into true alignment with the sacred intelligence of Birth.
Because in the evolution of consciousness, in the evolution of culture, we are never moving backwards.
We are moving forward into frequency. All of the medicine of the future will be in energy, frequency and vibration.
The more we expand, the more we evolve, the more we raise our vibration, the more we begin to BECOME THE WAVE.
And in that moment, it hit me so fully, Birth is the moment when we shift.
It is the moment when a mother’s body — and her baby’s — transcend from particle to wave.
It is the becoming. The merging. The unifying.
What follows is a transmission I received in that moment, enjoy. . .
Quantum Birth: Becoming the Wave
Pregnancy and Birth are not just biological, physiologic and spiritual events — they are Quantum Phenomena.
When a woman conceives, her body enters a new frequency — a rising, expanding dance of contraction and expansion. The womb, like the heart of a star, begins to pulse with creation: growing, stretching, preparing to transmit the light of life.
In the language of Quantum Physics, particles and waves are not separate — they are one, depending on how they are observed.
A particle becomes a wave when its energy rises high enough, vibrating beyond fixed form into pure potential, pure becoming.
Birth is this moment of alchemy and Labor is the gateway.
As the waves of Labor build — cresting, receding, cresting again — the woman is not just experiencing the waves.
She BECOMES the wave.
Her energy field rises, her consciousness expands. She and her baby ENTRAIN — merging into a unified field of rhythm, sensation and spirit.
Together, they catch the rising wave of creation, riding it beyond the boundaries of matter, into pure frequency.
It is through becoming the wave that a mother and her child move through the portal of Birth, just as stars are born from the collapse and expansion of cosmic energy.
Birth is not only the emergence of new life — it is the surfacing of new light, new timelines, new realities.
Each contraction is a ripple through the quantum field, an invitation for mother and baby to rise beyond limitation, to weave themselves into the great tapestry of becoming.
To give Birth is to become the wave that carries life across dimensions — and to remember that we, too, are timeless light, dancing through matter.
Reclaiming Quantum Midwifery
I never expected that the science of quantum mechanics would bring me back to Midwifery — but it did.
I am the Midwife who remembers.
Who sees the patterns of the stars in the spirals of a contraction.
Who knows that birth is not separate from the cosmos, but a mirror of it.
We are catching up to what the quantum physicists have always known
And Birth is the most ancient technology of all.
This is where we are going.
This is the future.
We are not just witnessing and Birthing babies. . .
We are becoming wavelengths.
Mothering and Midwifery
It all begins with an idea.
I thought I had to surrender one to honor the other, but they are braided into the same golden thread.
This is my season. This is my path. I am exactly where I'm meant to be.
I thought I had to choose…
To fully surrender to Mothering meant putting Midwifery on a shelf, waiting for another season, another version of me, to return to the path. But that separation created a quiet discord inside.
Because Midwifery isn't something I do. . .
Midwifery is WHO I AM.
And Mothering is the living altar where it all gets practiced.
The other night, as I tucked my daughter into bed, she looked at me and whispered… “Mama, you're so magical. You're so beautiful. You help so many people… And you still get to stay home and take care of us.”
Through all the rage, the grief and the anxiety I've had to meet these past few years, her words met me like a balm.
Because even in my messiness, even in my imperfection… I am the center of her universe and she sees me.
This journey is not linear. It's not tidy. It's full of paradox, transformation and fire.
But today I honor this truth:
When we choose mothering, when we choose presence, when we choose to weave our sacred work through the seasons of our home.
We become medicine… For our children, for our community and for ourselves.
To the Mothers who are remembering. To the Mothers who are also Midwives, healers, artists and visionaries.
You don't have to choose. You are it all. There's a seat at the table for YOU.
You are the center of someone's universe.
The Divine Mechanics of Birth: A Perfect Design
It all begins with an idea.
Birth is not forced—it is allowed. The uterus lifts, the canal unfolds, the baby follows the spiral home. This is divine engineering in motion.
Labor is both mystical and deeply practical — an ancient intelligence woven into the design of the body.
Birth is not something your body needs to be taught how to do. It remembers.
And when we stop trying to manage, force, or override that process, we uncover something truly exquisite: A perfect design.
The Body Does Not Push — It Makes Space
The uterus, our sacred organ of creation, does not push your baby out. It makes space for your baby to be born.
It lifts.
It spirals.
It opens.
Working in harmony with gravity, pressure, rhythm, and breath — the uterus gathers strength, not to force life into the world, but to welcome it.
With each surge, the upper uterus (the fundus) thickens and pulls upward. The lower uterus softens and opens. The cervix, like a turtleneck sweater, is gradually drawn over the baby’s head.
As this happens, the birth canal, once pleated and folded like an accordion, begins to expand — each layer of tissue unfurling in perfect sequence.
This is not just biomechanics. This is ceremony in motion.
The Baby Knows How to Be Born
The baby is not passive in this process.
Guided by pressure, instinct, and a field of unseen intelligence, the baby tucks their chin, rotates, molds their head, and follows the spiral path through the pelvis.
This dance between baby and body is ancient. It is not taught — it is a energetic blueprint encoded in every cell from the moment of conception
Anything that blocks the way — swelling, misalignment, fear, emotion — is drawn up and out by the movement of the uterus.
The body clears its own path for Birth. Not by force, but by design.
A Design So Simple, It Can’t Be Improved
Labor is a simple yet brilliant form of biological engineering — created to do one thing: Bring the baby forth.
Every fiber of the uterus, very shift in the pelvis, every surge and pause are all part of a choreography so wise, so subtle, and so effective, it has not changed in thousands of years.
This is the divine intelligence of Birth. This is the our original design.
What if Birth Doesn’t Need to Be Managed — But Witnessed?
What if we stopped intervening and started protecting?
What if we stopped trying to make birth happen, and started trusting the unfolding?
What if birth is not a crisis to solve, but a ceremony to hold?
The uterus does not push. It allows.
The baby does not resist. They respond.
Birth is not something we can control — It’s something we get to surrender to.
This is Birth:
Simple.
Ancient.
Intelligent.
Perfectly designed.
